Julie Gulasy is a consummate musician. Since moving to Atlanta in 1994, she has performed as oboist and English hornist with the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra, The Atlanta Pops Orchestra, The Greenville Symphony Orchestra, Tthe Columbus Symphony Orchestra, The Macon Symphony Orchestra and the Dekalb Symphony. She has performed with Harry Connick Jr., Frank Sinatra Jr., Al Jarreau, Johnny Mathis, Roger Daltry, The Moody Blues, Joni Mitchell, Anita Bryant, Charles Billingsly and Brian Wilson.

 

Julie has also teamed with Lisa Sayre to establish what has become "Oxford Oboes", a summer camp for aspiring oboe students held at Brenau University in Gainesville, GA. She has contributed immensely, both as performer and advocate, to Hoboe Music, a publishing organization dedicated to classical crossover music and the double reeds.

 

Ms. Gulasy also serves as Artist Manager for several classical artists. In this capacity she organizes local and national events and represents these artists by writing biographies and articles for publication. She served as Conference Coordinator for the Elaine Duvas Oboe Master conference held in Cincinnati last year. She has planned and coordinated events with composer/arranger/conductor Charles Sayre which include a 70 minute live show with The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. She has worked in a similar capacity for oboist/teacher Linda Strommen and the Bill Ludwig Double Reed Master Classes.

 

Ms.Gulasy has recently completed an article entitled "Down A River Of Time" based on a new oboe concerto commissioned by Linda Strommen. Publication of this article was in the fall 2001 issue of the International Double Reed Society Journal.
