MARK OSTOICH, oboist, is currently Professor of Oboe at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He was formerly Associate Professor of Music at the Louisiana State University School of Music. He returned to his alma mater in 1986, where he was granted the Doctor of Music Arts degree in 1980 as a student of Earnest Harrison. He was formerly Associate Professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he was oboist and served on the musicology staff.

 

He is Director of winds of the Lucca Festival and Opera Theatre of Lucca and on the staff of the Grandin Festiva. He is active as soloist and clinician. Former principal oboist of the Santa Fe Opera, Jacksonville Symphony, and Baton Rouge Symphony. Has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, New Orleans Ballet, and Louisiana Philharmonic. Served as artist-faculty of the Sewanee Summer Music Festival for 14 seasons and the International Chamber Music Festival in Taos, New Mexico. Co-host of the 1990 Conference of the International Double Reed Society.
